SELECTION COMPETITION
The Selection Competition (SC) is the qualifying platform for selecting Namibia’s competitors for the National Skills Competition.
Selection Competition Process and Requirements
- The Selection Competition is held about 6-5 months before the National Skills Competition at selected training providers countrywide.
- The competition is open to institutional trainees, industry professionals, individuals, and inmates at no cost.
- No age limit. Preference is given to competitors 21 years or younger to stand a chance to represent Namibia at the international level.
- Application forms can be obtained at all state-owned VTCs and some private training providers countrywide. It’s also downloadable from the WorldSkills Namibia social media platforms and website, www.worldskillsnamibia.na
- Competitors undergo a rigorous selection process, including theoretical and practical assessments.
- Participants may need to bring their own toolboxes and hand tools.
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified within three weeks after the application deadline through digital platforms and notice boards at participating institutions.
- Successful candidates qualify to compete at national and/or regional skills competitions.
