Call for expressions of interest for the WSI Extended Secretariat at WSC2026
Namibia, as WorldSkills International (WSI) prepares for the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Competition (WSC2026), expressions of interest (EOIs) are hereby inviting eligible Namibians, who wish to be considered for roles within the Extended Secretariat.
The Extended Secretariat plays a critical role in supporting the WSI Secretariat in the delivery of various aspects of the Competition and is integral to the overall success of the Event. Staff selected to serve as Extended Secretariat personnel will have the opportunity to gain valuable international exposure, skills, and experience, which can be leveraged within Member and Regional organisations to further advance the work and impact of the WorldSkills movement.
The Event
- WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 will take place in Shanghai, China, from 23–27 September 2026. This will be the 48th WorldSkills Competition, featuring 64 skill competitions and approximately 1,400 Competitors showcasing and benchmarking excellence in technical and vocational education and training.
- A range of complementary activities and sub-events will be held alongside the skill competitions, including the WorldSkills Conference, One School One Member initiative, as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Process
- For a description of each team, types of roles and corresponding skills, and experience required, please refer to the attached Appendix A.
- EOIs will close on 16 January 2026. Applications are to be completed using the below WSI link:

- The appointment process will be completed in a staged manner with the first appointments being made by end February 2026. Further appointments will be made as roles are confirmed.
